MATTS

MATTS is a research project for exploring, modelling and managing security in complex networked systems-of-systems. The originally acronym stands for "Mobile Agent Topology Test System", due to the programs ability to manage mobile agents on a network of computers. However, the program has grown considerably beyond its original goals and is now much more geared towards modelling of interacting systems and analysing their security features.

MATTS is also closely related to the Dandelion network visualiser. Both were developed at Liverpool John Moores University School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences. Although they share some code, their purpose is slightly different. Moreover MATTS is currently only usable on Windows, whereas Dandelion is cross platform. Both are released under the LGPL.

Some of the features provided by MATTS are the following.

• Model networked systems and the interactions between them.
• Overlay interacting systems onto simple 3D map visualisations.
• Assign arbitrary properties (key-value pairs) to nodes and links.
• Analysis engine for determining composed security properties based on those of the individual systems.
• Mobile agent system for managing distributed models
