One of the problems with the current set of animations is that they get a bit repetitive when left to their own devices. I thought that making them react to the mouse might be a way to make them a bit more varied. Consequently I've now added another animation that does this, as my first experiment to see whether it's an improvement.

Every so often I get a bit bored with this site and feel like it needs to be spruced-up a bit. This time I figured what's really needed is some distracting eighties style background animations that would have looked good back when the <blink> tag was still acceptable under international law. If you're using IE you'll be spared the animations due to performance issues. For everyone else using a javascript capable browser, you'll hopefully now be seeing the fruits of my misguided efforts. Trust me when I say I won't be offended if you decide to turn them off.
